Our Story
Ours is a love story orchestrated beyond the universe, uncovered in the most unlikely of places. Every love story is unique, woven with threads of moments, emotions, and memories that are unparalleled. Ours began in a place you might not expect—a drilling rig, amidst the hum of machinery and the vast expanse of the usual drilling field. It’s not the typical setting for a romance to blossom, yet it became the foundation of our incredible journey. Here is the tale of how we found love in the most unexpected place.
Chapter 1: An Unlikely Meeting
I still remember the day we first met. It feels like last week! It was on board an onshore rig, I was passionate about my job, ready to conquer the challenges of the drilling rig. She was there for an MFA project: brilliant and assertive, with the charisma fit only for royalty; a truly thorough professional. Our first encounter was on an evening after she knocked off for the day, I had begun my shift a few hours prior; I was struck not just by her intellect but by the fire in her eyes. There was an undeniable energy between us, an instant connection that couldn’t be ignored.
Chapter 2: The Spark Ignites
Life on a drilling rig is tough. The days are long, the work is hard, and personal time is a rare luxury. Yet, every moment I ran into her or had her visit the Mud Pit Area felt like an escape from the rigors of our environment. We must have found some reason to find each other daily; because it became less unusual as the weeks and months went by. With each passing day, our initial spark of attraction grew into a burning flame---well, for me!
Chapter 3: Love Amidst the Waves
Falling in love on a drilling rig meant embracing the unconventional. I recall being a stranger for longer than I would have approved. Our dates weren't typical: they were non-existent! This is the woman of my dreams by the way! I'm sure that it had its extractions. I had to get through the crude to get to the gruel.
Chapter 4: Overcoming Challenges
Our love was not without its challenges. The nature of our jobs meant facing long periods apart, dealing with the uncertainties of the industry, and the constant movement from one location to another for me, and the fact that she wasn't a field person didn't help one bit. Albeit, our commitment to each other was unwavering, proving that love, indeed, conquers all.

Hello everyone, and thank you all for being part of this wonderful union! It gives me honour to be part of this amazing step for my brother Chizi and his beautiful bride, Ofure. I couldn’t hold them in higher esteem!
It is a true testament to Ofure and Chizi that you would take time from your busy schedules to share this momentous occasion with them.
Ofure is a fabulous woman. She never fails to brighten everyone’s day with her warm smile and limitless compassion and energy. Thank God Chizi found her as the yin to his yang. I couldn’t imagine two people better suited for each other as you two are today.
Now that they’re settling down and hopefully spending more time together than at work, they’ll have so much free time. Unaccustomed to unscheduled hours, I’m sure they’re wondering what on earth they’ll do. Well, they’re newlyweds…I’m sure they’ll figure something out.
I’m honoured to be a part of this marriage moment and I ask everyone involved to please raise their hearts in honor of my brother Chizi and his wife Ofure and share this toast to their happy, healthy, and long-lasting marriage. Cheers!
